Spring Term One
The children have been using concrete resources to support their learning of multiplication and division. Using hands-on equipment helps children build confidence and develop a secure understanding of mathematical concepts. All children complete their maths learning on a 1:1 basis, allowing teaching to be carefully tailored to each child’s needs and ensuring they are fully supported at every step.
Autumn Term Two
This half term we have been working on recognising the emotions happy, sad, angry and scared. We have practices making these faces ourselves and have sorted faces according to the emotion they represent. We have also looked at how these emotions relate to the Zones of Regulation and what tools we might need to use when we are feeling these emotions so that we remain regulated.
Each morning, we take part in a different fine motor skill activity. These include learning to fasten buttons, tie shoelaces, use tweezers to pick up items, cutting with scissors, handwriting and practicing using a knife and fork.
Autumn Term One
In our writing sessions, some of us have been writing postcards about our summer holidays and letters to a pen pal. We practiced using chatty language to talk about what we had been doing over the summer holidays and using time words to sequence our ideas.
Some children have been working on their phonological awareness skills by learning about rhyming words and counting the number of syllables in a word.
