Welcome

Welcome to Pyrcroft Grange Primary School and Nursery. I am delighted and proud to be the Headteacher of such a forward-thinking and happy school, where the school community shares the highest expectation and aspiration for everyone, working hard together towards securing the best outcomes for every single child. Our driving ambition is to provide excellence for all in teaching and learning and to open doors to a bright future.

At Pyrcroft Grange Primary School we offer a curriculum that is ambitious and designed to give all pupils the knowledge and cultural capital they need to succeed in life. We offer a curriculum of opportunity and challenge, where there are no limits to learning.

Pyrcroft Grange Primary School and Nursery is situated in Chertsey in Surrey. We are proud to be part of the Bourne Education Trust and work collaboratively with other schools in the primary and secondary phase. We are based in a small, dynamic community and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Our learning environments are engaging and play a key part in stimulating children’s interests and moving learning forward. In the Early Years Foundation Stage, outdoor learning is an integral requirement of the curriculum; our children enjoy an extensive outdoor setting in which to learn and play together.

We promote excellence in learning and include the development of a rich and varied vocabulary, thinking skills and collaborative and investigative opportunities for children throughout their learning journey. Active involvement in the learning process leads children to become independent, creative and autonomous learners. Through daily teaching, we use resources which enrich the children’s learning experiences and provide further learning beyond the classroom.

Developing children into young, confident leaders who understand that their voice is important and should be listened to in a respectful environment is essential. At Pyrcroft Grange Primary School we have a passionate and active School Council and Eco Heroes Committee. Our School Council has written our mission statement Dream, Believe, Work, Achieve. “If you dream it, you believe it, if you believe it, you work for it, if you work for it, you will achieve it……”. This sentiment underpins all we do at Pyrcroft Grange Primary School and it reflects the attitude that permeates the school. The school ethos is for everyone to learn and strive to be the best they can be.

In December 2016 the school had an Ofsted inspection and was graded as Outstanding in all areas. Since then, the school has continued to drive school improvements forward and had a successful Ofsted in June 2023. It is known as the school that cares about its pupils, strives for academic success, whilst developing the whole child. Pyrcroft Grange Primary School is a popular school and is local parents’ first choice.

We are fortunate enough to receive tremendous support from our parents and carers. The home school partnership is one of exceptional importance to us, as we firmly believe that this is the key to ensuring successful learning. We operate an open-door policy and we regularly invite parents and carers into our school community to understand what and how their children are learning.

Upon arrival at the school, you will immediately notice the excellent learning behaviour of our pupils and the passion, enthusiasm, and friendliness of our staff. We believe that your child’s learning journey is lifelong, and we feel privileged that Pyrcroft Grange Primary School and Nursery is where this very important journey begins.

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

You are always welcome to come and see the school in action. Please contact the school office 01932 564094 to make a suitable appointment.

I look forward to meeting you very soon.

Sue Nardoni,
Headteacher
