Spring Term One
This term we read the story Chocolate Mousse for Greedy Goose by Julia Donaldson. Some children wrote sentences about what animals and objects they could see in the pictures from the book. Other children used colourful semantics to retell the story in their own words. The children are now working on writing their own party invitations to an animal of their choice. The Year 1 and 2 children are including some questions in their invitations too! During provision time, some children have used the Duplo to build homes for the animals from the story and some children made shopping lists for the food they need for a party!
Autumn Term Two
Horse Riding – Some children in the Centre KS1 class went horse riding in the Autumn term. They had the opportunity to experience walking and trotting in the school and had jobs to complete when they go round the sensory trail.
Autumn Term One
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
We have been singing this familiar nursery rhyme and thinking about words that rhyme. We have been making rhyming pairs and we have also been saying and writing our own silly rhyming sentences! Some of us are also focusing on our initial sounds and learning to write these correctly.
