KS1 COIN followed simple instructions to make sandwiches. The children chose cheese or ham as their filling. Some children wanted cheese and ham! The children practised their knife and fork skills by cutting their sandwiches into rectangles or squares.

We have been learning about rhyming words using nursery rhymes. We learnt Pat-a-Cake and the year 2 children wrote their own versions of the nursery rhyme using a different rhyming pair.

This term the children enjoyed using The Very Hungry Caterpillar as a focus for their speech and writing work. As part of this, the children made fruit kebabs for the caterpillar using all of the fruit from the story. The children had a go at tasting each fruit including: apple, pear, plum, strawberry and orange.
