Bessie the Bus

Reading for pleasure is really important as “Great readers become great leaders”.  At the start of the spring term a double decker bus arrived at Pyrcroft Grange Primary School and parked up on the playground. The journey to the playground was an adventure with the bus getting stuck in the mud!!! The transformation of the bus then begun with chairs being removed, tables for guided reading fitted and book cases fixed to the floor in the bus. The whole school community were behind the transformation of the bus to a library bus by donating picture and chapter books. The school council led a vote in their class to decide the name of the library bus and Bessie was the winning name.

Each day children board the library bus and share the enjoyment of reading books independently and with their friends. This amazing asset to the school learning environment would not have been possible without the fantastic support of Dennis O’Connor: Thank you from all of the Pyrcroft Grange Primary School community.

Quotes from children
